A Long Way Gone

Not much has happened since I last wrote about this book. The main character gets seperated form the group in another attack by the rebels. He gets lost in the forest for a while until he finds a group of boys he remembers from school. They hear about a place by the ocean where there isn't any fighting so they head for that place. When they get there a sailor takes care of them for a week in his fishing hut. But then the tribe leader finds out that there are 5 teenagers there and the boys have to run away. A Long Way Gone is filled with lots of adventure and view changing facts about civil war in Sierra Leone.

  1. Found this and thought of the book you're reading. It's a video about the Invisible Children (child soldiers) of Joseph Kony, leader of the Lord's Resistance Army. It's a little graphic, but it's all about us bringing attention to the 3,000 kids that remain in the LRA today, to hopefully bring Joseph Kony to justice, and rescue the children.
